I typed a bunch of stuff yesterday and lost it. This will be much shorter...

I had posted Friday about having my first appt with the dr that afternoon. I was scared and very anxious. My husband was not seeming to be very thrilled about the thought of us having a baby.  (first for me, he already has three grown children).

Long story short...the appt was easy. Just peed in a cup, talked to dr, asked hundreds of questions and got a vaginal ultrasound (don't know technical name).

Good news is that after seeing the heartbeat on the ultrasound my husband seemed to soften a little. It made it all seem real to me too. I really didn't believe I was pregnant until then. Dr said everything looked good (how he can tell much yet is beyond me). The due date he gave us was just one day off what I had figured. Baby is due Nov. 8th. I go back in four weeks.

I know  my husband is warming up to the idea a little because we went out to eat Friday after the appointment and I noticed he was not eating and staring off into space. I said "hey, you there?" He said, "we'll have to come up with a name now". I just laughed and told him we have plenty of time! Also, last night he gave me crap for eating some french fries. He said "can't you feed that kid something better than that?" LOL

I'm going to try to post pics from my ultrasound... forgive me if it doesn't work
Thanks for all your kind words of encouragement.

I think sometimes it takes men longer to get used to the idea of the baby than it does us. Sounds like he is coming around, that's good, I'm glad for you!

It can take a while for guys cause it aint their body. Tell him the baby has an independant food source until weeks 12 to 14, (I have heard both but the point is the same.) so whatever you can get doen is fine. I lived (and still do live) on chicken noolde soup and Chef Boyardee raviolis. Good luck!

Funny you say that! I'm sitting here eating ravioli as I'm reading your post. I haven't eaten them in years, but it sounded great!! LOL

LOL I can usually take it or leave it. Usually leave it. Now? Hand it over and no one gets hurt. That and potato chips. Shhhhhhhhhhh Don't tell my surgeon. ;)
